Commercial work is a different animal from residential. The hardware is heavier, the doors are usually metal in a hollow frame, and the failure mode is not inconvenience, it is a business that cannot open. It also has to satisfy fire and life-safety rules that a house does not.

What we handle for businesses

  • Master key systems. Designed so a manager's key opens everything, a shift lead opens a subset, and staff open only their own areas.
  • Rekeys and lock changes. Including same-day turnarounds after a termination.
  • Panic and exit devices. Push bars installed, adjusted and repaired to keep egress compliant.
  • Door closers. Installation and adjustment so doors latch properly instead of resting against the frame.
  • Keypad and keyless entry. Standalone code locks and electronic deadbolts, with code management.
  • High security cylinders. Restricted keyways where keys cannot be copied at a hardware counter.
  • Storefront hardware. Aluminum door mortise locks, hook bolts and pivot repairs.
  • File cabinets, safes and cash drawers. Opened, repaired, rekeyed, combinations changed.

Master keying, and why it is worth the design time

A master key system is not a product you buy, it is a plan. Done right, it maps your actual staffing: who needs the supply closet, who needs the server room, who needs the exterior doors after hours. Done carelessly, it becomes a system where four people hold a key that opens everything and nobody remembers who they are.

We chart the system on paper first, build in room for doors you have not added yet, and hand you a key log at the end. When someone leaves, you know precisely which cylinders to pull instead of rekeying the building on a hunch.

The termination scenario. The moment to think about this is not the morning after. If you have a restricted keyway, keys cannot be quietly duplicated at a hardware store, so recovering the key genuinely recovers the access. Without one, an unreturned key means rekeying, every time.

Exit hardware and staying compliant

Fire code is unforgiving about egress: an occupant has to be able to get out without a key, without special knowledge, in a single motion. The chained-shut back door and the keyed deadbolt on an exit are the two violations we find most often, and both are the kind of thing an inspector writes up immediately.

Panic hardware solves it properly. The door stays secure from outside, and a push from inside always opens it. We install and service the common exit device families and adjust dogging so the door stays open during business hours if that is how you run.

What it usually costs

You get the price on the phone, before anyone is dispatched. Cost depends on the hardware, the time of day and how far out you are, so we quote your job rather than advertise a number that changes on arrival.

Common questions

Can you work outside business hours?

Yes, and for retail and restaurants we usually prefer to. Early morning before opening and evenings after close mean the work does not cost you a selling day. Scheduled after-hours commercial work is quoted at a flat rate rather than the emergency surcharge.

How fast can you rekey after firing someone?

Same day in nearly every case, often within a few hours. Call with a door count and we will give you a window. If you have a master system with a key log, we can often pull just the cylinders that person actually had access to, which is faster and cheaper than doing the building.

Do you handle full access control with badges and software?

We handle standalone electronic locks, keypads and code management, which covers most small and mid-size offices well. Full networked badge systems tied into IT infrastructure are a different specialty, and we would rather refer you to an integrator who does it daily than learn on your building.

Can you set up an account for multiple locations?

Yes. For multi-site businesses we keep your hardware and key charts on file so a call about any location starts with us already knowing what is on that door. Property managers and franchise operators tend to find that saves the most time.

Get it sorted

Employee left and still has keys?

We can rekey a whole building in an afternoon and hand you a clean key log at the end of it.
